How do I even begin to describe the kind, brilliant, generous spirit we know as Michelle, someone who, as Yuli put it, is so “absurdly easy to love!”?
If you’re reading this, you’ve likely had the privilege of sharing space, circles, ~ vibes ~, or soulful connection with Michelle. You probably know how deeply she listens and makes you feel witnessed, held, and so easily at home.
I bet you miss her right now as you fondly recall the last time you were graced by her presence… Well, you’re in luck, ’cause she misses you too! You're receiving this because you touched Michelle's heart in some way, and she would love to invite you to join her circle of support.
Over the past few months, Michelle has been navigating a truly rough convergence of multiple medical challenges and unexpected curveballs! Together, these have significantly constrained her mobility, energy, life force, and overall capacity to manage the demands of everyday life.
This season is inviting Michelle into deep rest and recovery—and into the courageous work of asking for and receiving help. (Tricky when you’re an accomplished, brilliant badass used to handling things yourself!)
The sign-ups below offer ways to support her with errands, food, gardening, companionship, emotional support, adventures in nature, and more. Some items are more urgent time-wise, but they will all be helpful. You're encouraged to lean into your joy and aliveness when sensing into support!
My teacher Holly Truhlar recently shared, “May we know that we are needed, and may we be needy.” Thank you, Michelle, for courageously sharing your needs. For giving us the gift of being needed—the opportunity to put our love into practice and strengthen the web of community care that holds us all! <3

Types of messages Michelle would love:
Where you share about a time you had trouble asking for help even when you really needed it. (Help Michelle feel less alone in this)
Where you share something you're excited about right now
Where you share something funny or delightful
Where you share a time when a challenge transformed into a gift, or where you made it so
Make your message as short or as long as you want - Michelle would love to hear from you either way.

Michelle has been home-bound or not-very-mobile for most of the summer and is dying to get out into nature. Take her out on a canoe ride! (She can't paddle but would love if you did.)
Where/How: Michelle doesn't own a canoe but is happy to pay for a rental in town (e.g. Humber River) or a bit on the outskirts. Michelle's car is also available for travel. If you have a canoe and a way to transport it, even better!
When: Before mornings get too cold. Send Michelle a message to co-ordinate.

Michelle needs a lot of calories to heal but is struggling to keep up with meal prep. She is investigating meal delivery options, but some folks have asked about a meal train / food gifting.
If you're someone who's keen to gift food, here's info about Michelle's recovery diet:
Protein-heavy (meat, fish, eggs) and carb-heavy (grains and pasta) dishes and snacks are great, especially if they can be frozen. Farmers' market produce is also wonderful. Homemade and bought are both welcome, but low-additives/chemicals is better.
Ideal foods are ready to eat or heat, not spicy, not overly sweet, and don't contain milk or cream (cheese, butter and yogurt are ok). Please don't gift Michelle anything with MSG, preservatives, artificial flavours/sweeteners/colours as these make her very sick.

This brave critter makes a nightly appearance to dig furiously in Michelle's yard and poop on her deck. This was all well and good until Michelle tripped on one of his grubbing holes and sprained her ankle.
Have you had any success neighbouring with a skunk? Help Michelle relate to this one so they can make better fellows.
