Organized by Wildlife Preservation Canada Native Pollinator Initiative
In addition to Wildlife Preservation Canada's (WPC's) Bumble Bee Community Science Program at Pinery Provincial Park, WPC will also be hosting two bee walks at Pinery this summer for those who couldn't attend the volunteer workshop but still want to get trained on surveying bumble bees, and for anyone who wants to learn about bumble bees!
These bee walks will include an intro about bumble bees, a demo on hands-on surveying, and some identification practice. Parents are responsible for the safety and supervision of their children.
The bee walks will take place on Saturday, July 25th (Meeting spot: Children's Program Area), with two timeslots throughout the day, each walk taking up to an hour and a half.
Observations from the walks will also be uploaded to https://www.bumblebeewatch.org/. If you'd like to participate in uploading observations, you can register online in advance.
Things to bring:
If you have any known allergies to bee stings, please let us know by emailing us at pollinators@wildlifepreservation.ca.
