Tips for Scouts

Scout troops run a year-round calendar of events that require parent volunteers and RSVP headcounts. Troop leaders use signup sheets for campouts, badge workshops, fundraiser shifts, service projects, and court of honor celebrations.

Include Packing Lists and Logistics

Add campout details in the sheet description — what to bring, drop-off/pickup times, location address, and emergency contact. It saves a dozen emails from worried parents.

Schedule Cookie Booth Shifts

Create 2-hour time slots for cookie booth locations. Families sign up for the shifts that work and you can see coverage at a glance.

Require Adult Supervision Ratios

Note the required adult-to-scout ratio in the sheet description and create enough adult volunteer slots to meet it before any campout or outing.
