Back-to-School Volunteer Signup Sheet

Back-to-school season means orientations, supply drives, classroom setup days, open houses, and welcome events — all needing parent volunteers. A signup sheet fills every role from hallway guides to supply-sorting helpers, and parents sign up around their own back-to-school chaos.

Tips for Back to School

The back-to-school rush is one of the busiest volunteer seasons for schools. Orientations need hallway guides, supply drives need sorters, classrooms need setup help, and welcome events need greeters. Parents want to help — they just need a clear, flexible way to sign up.

Define Short, Manageable Shifts

Parents are busy during back-to-school week. Create 1 to 2 hour shifts so more parents can help without committing a full day.

Include Supply Drive Sorting

If your school runs a supply drive, add shifts for collection, sorting by grade, and classroom delivery. These roles are quick and kids can help too.

Cover All Event Types

Create sections for orientation helpers, open house greeters, classroom setup, supply drive, and the welcome picnic. Parents pick the event and time that fits.
